It’s not often that runway at major fashion week is graced with designs that are equal parts fashion forward, artsy, stunning and wearable – and the latter is most rare to find. With spring 2018, Oscar de la Renta laced them all together and presented a truly phenomenal collection.

Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2018 collection has references of pop art and letters penned by the legendary designer himself. There has been an obvious shift in aesthetics, where literal motifs have sneaked in along with traditional subtle ones. We saw paint splatter–print button-downs and paintbrush-heel pumps to the signature prints on tailoring and huge block letters picked out in sequins on a strapless party dress.

Yes, there has been a definitive paradigm shift, which received some heat from Oscar de la Renta purists; however, we are nodding excitedly to Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia’s vision for the brand, and sharing our favourites below:
